Lady in the Garden

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and laughs at the days to come.”

Proverbs 31 v 25

An image came to me while I was gazing out the window and watching the snow fall. An image of spring at her height of bloom. Now I love snow, and I love winter and her warm, stay-at-home cozy feeling. I honestly do not like early spring and her damp, half-rain-half-sun weather, but I am unbiased. The image that came to me wanted to bring forth the beauty that spring likes to hide under soggy, half-melted slush.

I have also tied that image to a Bible verse that spotlights the inner beauty in people (I know that it says “she” up above, but it can mean anyone). People are criticized for many reasons, but they’re picked on because — to the bullies — there is no outward value in them. Or rather, there’s a fake value. Some choose to think and act differently when around certain people, unlike who they actually are.

This lady in the garden at the top is a symbolic view of what happens when we choose to show our true colours. We blossom when we release our true personality. We bloom if we choose to shovel away the soggy, half-melted slush of our fake persona.

So what will it be?

Will you hide underneath a soggy, half-melted personality? Or will you blossom with the beauty of your true colours?

Beautiful reflection, Laura! I am also enjoying reading through the excerpts of the books you’ve written. That opening scene in the Blazing Saga series had me hooked!
